There is not much more I could have asked of Bumper. She has given me everything a show dog can possibly give. At a very young age, it was quite obvious that she was meant to be a show dog. She loved to show her stuff for everyone to see. Watching her move through the ring effortlessly, gliding, was a sight to behold.

The year 2006 was a HUGE year for Bumper! At less than three years of age, she finished the year as the National Dog of the Year, PCCI Dog of the Year and Philippine Bred Dog of the Year! She also won Hound of the Year and Beagle of the Year! After sweeping all the major all-breed, hound and beagle awards, Bumper became the Philippines’ #1 show dog for 2006!

Bumper is the first beagle in over forty years of dog showing in the Philippines, to become #1 all-breeds! Before Bumper, only one other beagle made it to the top ten all-breeds, Striker, Bumper’s sire who finished #8 all-breeds in 2003.

In 2005, her first year campaigned as a special, she broke numerous show records and finished the year as the nation’s #2 dog of the year, #1 hound, #1 beagle and the nation’s #1 female all-breeds.

Bumper started her show career in style. Side by side in the show ring with her dad, Striker, Bumper finished 2004 as the nation’s #1 female beagle, while her dad finished as the country’s top hound and beagle for that year.”Starting her show career early, at three months old, she won eight all-breeds best baby puppy in show awards. In her first time out as a special, Bumper won breed and group one.”Bumper is the first beagle to win a best in show in the Philippines under a foreign judge in over thirty years and the first multiple best in show winning beagle in PCCI history.”Bumper has a total of 60 BIS wins and BIS placements under her name. Her feat is so unprecedented for a beagle that as of the end of 2006, if you combine all the BIS wins of all the beagles who graced the Philippine show scene since its existence over four decades ago, they don’t even come close to Bumper’s. Then, of course, our Mikey came along.

Bumper is from Olympic Gold’s first ever beagle litter. We acknowledge that all records are meant to be broken, but at Olympic Gold Beagles, we are proud that at a moment in time, some records were ours to hold and cherish.
